Sub/org Re/Mix 2.0 is a video and audio performance that uses Pioneer DDJ1000 together with rekordbox software as the control interface to enable sonic and visual transition in live. Soundtracks selected as part of this work includes recordings of curators' talks in galleries such as white cube, MOMA, and Tate, sourced via YouTube, as well as electronic music including trance, IDM, hard techno, and gabber genres. Opened with a repeated score used as the intro music of White Cube's In the Gallery series 2-3 years ago, the work begins with two curators' discussion of Yves Klein's practice in searching for the meaning of art. With the progression of the mix, the intensity and the speed of the music increase while the quotation of those found curator talks became more and more dominant and "violent" in contrast to the sentiments of making meaning of art internally. The work in this ways questions the maintenance of art production in relation to commercial success, recognition (curator and gallery's position), speed (in terms of making new works), potential exhaustion and competitiveness.
